Water, hygiene and sanitation  (WASH) is one of the core programs embodied in our holistic  development model.

Our programming in WASH involves both software and hardware projects. We work with communities to improve access to clean water through;

• Sensitization and trainings
• Home visitation to poor homes
• Provision of small water harvest systems like plastic tanks, cemented tanks and others.
• Community mobilization
• Promotion of school water programs
• Among others.
• Using technology to design water based solutions for rural and semi urban
• Policy engagement

We want to expand our services and continue implementing our modal based on community context. Our areas of operation currently face a lot of health challenges including WASH. We also look forward to include WASH program. We aim to use our innovative culture to provide solutions to ending community health challenges. OUR APPROACH

At Empower World Wide we provide input financing combine it with capacity building, bring the inputs to a walkable distance for every farmer and link our farmers to market. We call this the complete bundle of services for our farmers. In all our programs, we want to put farmers at the forefront to enable them benefit from the holistic program that we offer. Our field officers reach out to farmers in their gardens, in their homes, in their groups and we get muddy as we improve farming in our areas of operation. We organize our farmers into small groups at village level this is where we think change starts from. We provide them with inputs on credit and farmers have the option to pay back anytime throughout the season. Our farmers also have the option to pay back in terms harvests.
Our program enables farmers to store their harvests and sell during good seasons when they can earn more profits. We provide quality and improved planting materials and fertilizers and strengthen the capacity of our farmers to use modern improved farming techniques. We are continuously improving our delivery through innovations as we aim to serve as many farmers as possible. We also cooperate with government agencies and other partners in food production. Our aim is to help farmers multiply their food production and harvests and also earn more profit on the unit sold. This we believe will greatly improve their livelihoods and transform communities. Our approach and modal enables sustainable impact to the farmers.
OUR IMPACT
After one year of intervention, Farmers productivity increased by 80% and 75% for maize and beans respectively. Their yield and income increased by 300% each. 100% of our clients reported that food security increased in general.
Highlights (January to September 2017):
• Reached a total of 500 farmers
• Distributed 10,000 kg of beans and 8000kg of maize flour
• Trained 500 farmers in best farming techniques
• Formed 45 farmer groups
• Provided 200 adolescents with farming techniques
• 50 small solar systems distributed to farmers on credit
MOVING FORWARD
We want to support as many farmers as possible. We aim to bring new farming techniques to farmers and also introduce other asset based items to transform the lives of our farmers. We enroll new farmers every season and we aim to grow every day. In future we will open up new chapters in new countries of east Africa. To keep up with the needs of our farmers, we conduct continuous evaluations and strive to create new products and services tailored to solve identified needs. Our farmers come first in everything we do.

YOUR DOLLAR Empowers the capacity of farmers to multiply food production and contribute to food security throughout the world. The food produced is consumed by many refugees, people in conflict and also reduce poverty in our communities. The dollars reduces dependence syndrome and help the family to feed their household and also support girls and boys to get education.

OUR APPROACH
Our holistic approach looks at all stages of education. These include Early child hood education (ECD), Pre-Primary education, accelerating learning process, primary education study clubs, skills development, socio development, physical education, spiritual education, teachers empowerement, leardership development, higher education and community mobilisation for girls education including community awareness to create conducive environement for child learning. We also establish play areas in communities to enable young children learn through palying.
Our programs aims at empowering communities by raising awareness, child rights, gender equality, encouraging participation and community ownership. The uniqueness of our approach enables students to improve their creativity, imagination, understanding self, and learn self-employable skills. We also support the mainstream school system to improve quality by assisting government primary and secondary schools. We provide scholarships at the secondary level, needs-based training and student mentoring to improve mainstream education approaches.
We provide sponsored children and youth with scholastic materials and necessities to enable them stay in school. We also empower their families and caretakers through our agriculture and microfinance programs to enable them support the rest of the children in their families but also are able to support sponsored beneficiaries after graduation. Our holistic approach gives children a hope for a home, healthy and future.
We aim to start our own schools that will be able to provide holistic education to disadvantaged students in the communities of Africa.

• 100 students supported in secondary schools (many of our sponsored students are leaders in the school they go to.

MOVING FORWARD
There many needy children out there in the villages, Islands and mountains of Africa, in the camps, in the slums and on the streets that cannot access quality education. We aim to support as many of these disadvantaged children as possible. Our target is to support 50,000 children by end of 2020 in Uganda. We also aim to move forward to new country chapters outside Uganda like south Sudan, Burundi, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Malawi and others.
We also want to support community government aided schools as a permanent solution by building infrastructures, educating teachers and mobilizing community participation.

Empowerment and Livelihood for adolescents (Create sustainable livelihood opportunities for adolescents)
We work in: Uganda

Uganda is ranked number 12 in early marriages in the world. Nearly 1 in 2 girls is married before the age of 18 years in Uganda according to UNICEF. 10% are married by age 15 and 40% are married by age 18. This is attributed to socio and traditional norms, poverty, limited access to education, inadequate life skills, unemployment and lack of relevant livelihood skills. We aim to work in countries with the highest child marriage and teenage pregnancy rates. Adolescent girls are vulnerable, and the cost of not protecting them is high. Child marriage often prevents girls from continuing their education and realizing their full potential. We want to empower adolescents by unlocking their potential through education empowerment, life-skills, and livelihood opportunities. This is important to enable them to fight negative social norms and pressures and help them to grow holistically while building healthier future and reduce dependencies.
We also look at adolescent boys as agents of change. We want to create a generation that is supportive of gender equality, free from poverty and also empower them to support girl child. Our approach gives both adolescents equal opportunity to learn skills, life skills and education. We believe that when we empower boys and girls all together, we will have a better generation that appreciate and share opportunities equally.

OUR APPROACH

We aim to provide affordable high quality financial services that are accessible by every youth, woman and men living in disadvantaged communities. Our micro finance modal offer a large range of financial solutions to individuals excluded from the formal financial sector and is a holistic approach that facilitates household development. The availability of accessible microfinance enables households, families and groups to enhance income, consumption, acquire assets, pay school fees and manage shocks. We always innovate and create new products tailored to meet our client’s changing financial needs. Our strategies ensure that our financial services are provided following a thoroughly vetted evaluation and assessment criteria of the client’s financial ability to and delivered responsibly with continued support. At Empower Worldwide, we do not stop at providing credit to our customers; we grow with them through continuous business support, advisory and monitoring.

Education Empowerment

Enabling access to quality education for all children

We work in: Central region and south western parts of Uganda. We aim to grow and establish new country chapters.

More than 50% of children get out school in Africa due to extreme poverty, displacement, conflicts and discrimination. A high percentage of girls out of the school children are girls. Our holistic approach to education supports communities to enable disadvantaged children to get quality education through sponsorship, infrastructural development and education advocacy. Our approach enables us to tackle two sustainable development goals.
